This great product is a nonmagnetic, nickel-cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy that possesses a unique combination of ultra-high tensile strength (up to 300 ksi or 2068 MPa), good toughness and ductility, and excellent corrosion resistance. This amazing alloy displays exceptional resistance to sulfidation, hydrogen embrittlement, and high temperature oxidation. The unique properties of MP35N alloy are developed through work hardening, phase transformation and aging. If the alloy is used in the fully work-hardened condition, service temperatures up to 750°F (399°C) are suggested.
Because of its unique combination of properties, the MP35N alloy has been used in a wide variety of applications. It's perfect for fasteners, springs, nonmagnetic electrical components, and instrument parts in medical devices, marine equipment, oil and gas wells, and chemical and food processing environments.
This nonmagnetic solid-solution strengthened cobalt base alloy has good oxidation-corrosion resistance. It also features high strength at elevated temperatures. The high strength properties of this alloy may be obtained through work hardening, and it remains nonmagnetic in the work hardened condition. The aging response of L-605 is considered minimal (especially when compared to typical age hardening alloys). But, in certain instances, it may be used in the cold worked and aged conditions.
L-605 has been used for heart valves, bone drill bits, gas turbine rotors, nozzle diaphragm valves, and springs.
